Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing. Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness, or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies.

As a therapist, I value human strength to overcome challenging moments. I believe that you have within you what it takes to face life’s challenges and strive. You only need extra support, encouragement, and empowerment to build resiliency and live a fulfilling life. I dedicated my last six years supporting children, adults, youth, and families with different socio-economic needs and from diverse communities facing immigration challenges, life transitions, loss, anxiety, and trauma. With a background in Neurosciences, and social work, I am equipped with extensive knowledge and skills to tailor intervention to meet client’s needs.

I use an integrative approach drawing from Person-Centered, Strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. I am committed to instilling hope, encouraging, and positively impacting people’s lives within a culturally sensitive framework, a non-judgmental attitude, and in a safe space.
